JOB DESCRIPTION
You will be part of the computational biology team and work within cross-functional groups to understand cell-cell communication in cancer and other relevant biological samples.
You will be responsible for defining and developing data analysis methods for Moleculent products to meet customer needs. As an internal stakeholder representing the customer, you will work closely with the other teams to develop technology and products. Additionally, you will oversee and participate in defining, analyzing, and reporting customer collaboration and fee-for-service projects. You will collaborate with the Bioinformatics and Software teams to translate analysis workflows into pipelines, tools, and software products used by R&D, fee-for-service staff, and Moleculent customers.
Main responsibilities:
- Data Analysis: Perform advanced statistical and computational analysis of large-scale biological spatial data.
- Tool Development: Design, develop, and maintain computational tools and pipelines used by experimentalists and fee-for-service staff to generate biologically meaningful insights.
- Research Support: Provide R&D analysis support for experimental design, data generation, and hypothesis testing.
- Collaboration: Participate in defining and validating Moleculent customer needs. Define, analyze, and report on pilot projects with early collaborators and customers.
- Innovation: Apply innovative approaches to improve Moleculent’s analysis workflow and data quality. Stay updated on the latest advancements in spatial biology technologies, and computational biology.
- Mentorship: Mentor junior team members and provide training on computational tools and techniques.
QUALIFICATIONS
To fit the role, you have a master’s degree and preferably a PhD. in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field.
You have at least three years of relevant experience, preferably from work within a life science or diagnostics company. Fluent written and spoken English and excellent communication and computer skills are a requirement.
Other valuable qualifications for this role include:
- Proficiency in analyzing and interpreting spatially resolved omics data. Such as data generated by spatial biology technologies such as spatial transcriptomics, spatial proteomics, and imaging mass cytometry.
- Strong understanding of statistical methodologies and machine learning techniques applicable to spatial data.
- Proven track record in developing computational methods and pipelines for the analysis of spatial biology data.
- Proficiency in designing and implementing algorithms for spatial data integration, visualization, and interpretation.
- Ability to integrate multimodal biological data types.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with wet-lab scientists, to translate complex biological questions into computational analyses.
- Experience in contributing to multidisciplinary research projects and leading collaborative efforts.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and concepts to diverse audiences.
- Competency in overseeing and participating in customer collaboration and fee-for-service projects, including defining, analyzing, and reporting.
